A Sally Jean Weekend

WOW!!! That is all I can say about the amazing weekend Dana and I had. We flew up to Portland on Friday to take a 2 day studio class with Sally Jean Alexander. She is an amazing artist that does the most incredible pieces I have ever seen. She is a pro with the soldering iron, and was very generous with the secrets to great technique. We learned so much. We took the "Totally Tiara" class, and spent 2 full days creating artwork, soldering glass and embellishing our tiara creations. The talent in this class was amazing and Sally Jean was so humble, and gracious, and showed us so much hospitality. Meaning she let us crash her studio for 6 hours after our class was over! What a gal!!! Definitely check her out at http://www.sallyjean.com/
Here is my completed tiara. It was finished in class, however, we had a casualty getting through security at the airport, so I had a little repair work to do when I got home. I am now in search of a half mannequin that I can alter and use for displaying the crown. Off to Ebay!

Wow, Carrie! You are as fast getting your artwork on your blog as you were making your Tiara. It looks fantastic. I am getting ready to take my time to peruse your blog to see your other art work and to get an idea about creating one myself.

btw...Jackie and I didn't get back to my home in Florida until 3am. We were
Zoombies!

Okay, going to feast my eyes on your artwork and then to Dana's blog. Maybe Jackie and I will have one by the end of the month.

Great, great fun to be with you and
Dana.

I love how your Tiara turned out. I'm glad the security point and flight home didn't do too much damage. Atleast that couldn't be fixed. I hear ya about trying to find the perfect item and place to display the Tiara. I currently have mine on top of an unused cake stand, that is on top of a shelf in my studio. When it is not being worn.
take care

Love, love , love your tiara, Carrie. What fun you had. I just signed up for Sally Jean's Chandelier-ella workshop in her studio next July. I am looking for a place to stay while there. Can you make any suggestions as to a hotel or B & B located near Sally
's studio to stay.

Anyone no how to get a response from Sally Jean? I placed an order and paid for it back in September and have still not received it. Sally Jean will not respond to any of my emails or phone messages (when her phone mailbox is not full and you can actually leave one). What is a girl to do! The item I am waiting on was suppose to be the perfect Christmas gift? Desperate! kris@deepmagic.com
